This monthโs field trip adventure brought the kids to Lincoln Library! They hopped into the Compass vans and set off for a fun-filled adventure that included an exciting scavenger hunt, a special story time, and the chance to choose a book to take home. What a great way to spark a love of reading! ๐โจ
Back at Club Compass, one of the kid’s favorite Social-Emotional Lessons (SEL) was the Emotional Piggy Bank game. The lesson focused on kindnessโbeing friendly, helpful, and caring toward others, while fostering a community where people look out for each other’s best interests.
The skill: “I can cheer up others by making deposits in their Emotional Bank Accounts.” Kind words serve as deposits into a person’s “piggy bank.”
Through various scenarios, the kids practiced coming up with positive deposits for friends, family, and even themselves. Let’s keep filling up those piggy banks!
