During a recent Club Compass lesson on gratitude, first-grader Za’Riaha wrote that she was thankful for Club Compass and the food she takes home. While many kids mentioned family and pets, her response stood out.

When asked why, she shared that she loves having a safe place to go after school—and that bringing home food – whether that be leftovers from dinner or her bag of weekend food via the Backpack Feeding Program – for her family means a lot. Za’Riaha attends Club Compass with her brother and sister, and she’s full of potential, and destined for great things.
